Well I have been told journaling is great for you. Take it from Dr. K : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNJO1pZV-I8

Rightfully so, I have come to realise it allows me to have some “me time” to relax, process my thoughts and reorient myself.

So about a month ago, I started writing before bed, it wasn’t easy, doing it for the first time felt unnatural, nevertheless, I did it for 2 days. Wasn’t fun… why?! I love myself some me time, so why was it so hard to journal?

On the third day, while writing, I realised my thoughts are much faster than my writing. Journaling is something I see as capturing my raw thoughts and emotions, and stopping them to consolidate into writing breaks the flow of raw and authentic self-reflection. I had to repeatedly pause, recollect what I was thinking about, structure it and then write it down. Journaling wasn’t fun because this process was annoying.

It felt very unnatural and crazy at the time, but I set out walking alone, speaking, and recording myself, and I loved it. I did not know audio journaling was a thing until then. There is one major issue I realised while walking. How do I look back at it? Ain’t no way I’m ever listening to the whole 30 minute yap again!

Well, this was a great problem worth tackling, something which I really needed.

The immediate thought was, I want to model these raw, unstructured words into something I can look back at. With how much ever I knew, graphs and an LLM on top was a perfect interface for this. This idea was kind of electrifying!

So that 30 minute yap got converted into 50 minutes, and I kept on thinking how can I build this?

I live in hostel inside the college, and I am not soo extroverted. Walking alone talking out loud to literally nobody while there were a few people who could listen to me made me a bit conscious, but I did not care, because it was just too much fun!

So I have been going crazy over this idea for quite some time, building something while experiencing it first hand gives me a lot of ideas for how I want it to turn out. With the little time I have left apart from college, placement prep and capstone project, I have been experimenting with my own audio. And am very excited to see how I can take it forward!
